Partnering for a Healthier School Community
Nutritionally Ahead offers a range of services designed for children, teenagers, parents, and staff in child care centres, preschools, and primary and high schools. We also work with community-based groups such as Girl Guides, Scouts, and sporting clubs.
Building a Foundation of Health
Good nutrition is fundamental to a child's development. It provides the fuel they need to concentrate during class, stay energised for lunchtime and sporting activities, and build healthy bodies to be the best they can be. By offering a variety of foods from the different food groups, you can ensure students have the nutritional fuel they need to succeed.
Our School Services
We can partner with your school to help you promote a healthier and more knowledgeable community. Our services include:
- Nutritional Workshops for Students: Interactive and engaging sessions to teach children about healthy eating in a fun way.
- Mindful Eating: We provide education on mindful eating principles, helping students and staff to recognise hunger and fullness cues, enjoy their food, and cultivate a positive relationship with eating.
- Positive Food Relationships: We offer education and guidance to help children and young people develop a healthy relationship with food and a positive body image, fostering a non-diet approach to well-being.
- Parent Education Seminars: Provide parents with practical tools and knowledge to pack nutritious lunch boxes and prepare healthy meals at home.
- Staff Training: Give teachers and staff the nutritional knowledge they need to choose healthier options from the workplace cafeteria and to model healthy behaviours for students.
- Canteen Menu Review: We can assist with reviewing and updating your canteen's menu to ensure it aligns with national school nutrition guidelines, providing a variety of delicious and healthy choices.
Why Partner With a Dietitian?
Choosing to work with an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) ensures your school receives evidence-based, reliable, and professional nutrition guidance.
Our approach goes beyond the food on the plate; we focus on the whole person, incorporating mental health, physical activity, and a positive relationship with food. This holistic perspective helps to create a healthier, happier school community.
